Petco Grooming

i usually go to the dublin location where i always have a great experience, but its far so i came to the union city petco to get my doodle groomed. the app selected Yami as the stylist. i have to say, i’m really disappointed in the experience. my dog was not matted, was brushed thoroughly, and when i got him back, his fur was shaved down to his skin (even his private area). his ear hair was not removed, there was so much earwax inside. I went back to request she cleans his ears and she refused multiple times saying he was going to bite her. not once have i had an issue with this so i was confused when she said that. she finally took him back in so i watched the whole time waiting for any sign of aggressive behavior or fear. he didn’t even move once and was well behaved. however, again she just trimmed the outside hair, didnt put powder to remove any hair inside nor clean the wax. i had to remove the wax myself at home. he has been so visibly uncomfortable with this grooming. i am so upset. i usually don’t write reviews but this was so disheartening. i believe yami needs further training when grooming large dogs, especially doodles because its clear she did not read the notes, didnt ask how short to cut his hair and was not confident or knowledgeable with this grooming.

I took my two Corgis for a bath and sanitary trim. They came back looking, smelling and feeling amazing! Thank you for taking such good care of my family ❤️

Because our puppy is not yet accustomed to the sound of an electric trimmer or razor, I was hoping the professional groomer would be able to perform a manual trim using scissors. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the outcome, as our puppy was not adequately trimmed for the several occasions we will be attending during the upcoming holidays. We had been excited for some time, expecting our puppy to look similar to what was advertised. While I understand that there may be protocols in place from a business standpoint, we were still charged the full price despite receiving only approximately 30–40% of the service. I would suggest that Petco provide clearer guidance to customers, especially new pet owners regarding grooming expectations and the level of training dogs may need prior to a grooming appointment.

Maria took very good care of Bandit, who's 12 years old and suffering hip issues. She was so gentle with him and kept him very relaxed. He was a new kid when she finished.

Rachel is fantastic! My pup is usually a little shy with baths and nail trims but he is so comfortable with her. The care and professionalism are top notch. He always leaves his appointment looking so cute and smelling great!
