Big Cottonwood Canyon Trail

Beautiful canyon to drive through!! Lots of fun winding roads. Just be careful and enjoy the views of this spectacular place. We saw a Moose 10 min after driving in. Peaceful place and good food stops on the way to the mountains. Bonus if you enjoy disc golf or mountain biking you can do both at the peaks Solitude and Brighton. Check it out!

Beautiful, clean, and a great drive. Not great hiking or places to get wet though (my two favorite nature activities).

Always love hiking along a creek, so this trail fits the bill. There is a historical section which is well labeled. The sound of water is soothing and drown out most car noise. The road is fully paved so suitable for seniors and children. You share a path with the bikes so be careful. Some but not a lot of shades Also worth nothing I saw an American Dipper on the rocks on the river near the trail end at Park and ride. There are numerous swallows too. It’s the end of May and a few wild roses along the trail was at full bloom. The elevation gain is about 300 feet and distance is about 3 miles. One thing to note is the Google Map info is a bit incorrect. This trail starts at Knudsen Park and ends of the Park and Ride of Big Cottonwood Canyon. So it is not clear my Google takes me to the middle of the trail.

Nice trail, I started at Knudsen park, went to the parking lot where Big Cottonwood canyon starts and came back. In some places the trail is a bit "broken" so you have to be careful. There are two streets to cross, one of them has a traffic light and is very safe.

Great, leisurely trail with incredible views! It’s about a mile long and is paved, which is great for those with strollers or for people who don’t enjoy an uneven surface. Parking lot can be limited or spacious, depending on what end of the trail you begin at.
