(from Google)This is a great little shop we go to all the time they can be a bit low on stock at times but normally its not a problem the people I have met working there are always so nice, its pretty cheap and this is where we get most of our more common pet items
Truly a most wonderful pet supply store. The folks are really nice and very attentive. My primary stop when I go into town.
From what I read beta tropical fish weather male or female will fight and even fight to the death add an employee initially sold me 10 beta and I didn't know and I bought five more which cost me $150. From what I read it doesn't matter what size tank you use it doesn't matter how much more you feed them or how many artificial plants you put in the tank. I suggest play some notice but they should be kept in isolation. Maybe I read it wrong but this is what Google told me when I read it
-10/10 place. we went to start up an aquarium for our family. We were told that we could buy the tank & tank decor & after 24 hours we could go pick up tetras & a shark. the following day we pick up our fish, go home follow all of the steps. after doing so, our tank went to trash. cloudy, smelt bad, the fish were not happy. we back to pam’s with water for them to test & they said i added to many fish at the beginning & now they’re sick with ich & boarder line ammonia. bought what they recommended, salt, a sponge bubbler, more bacteria etc. finally got our tank situated/level with all of the things, & we were told we could add snails & a mini pleco, same steps as told prior. the whole tank same down with ich again. so i went back up there told them i already did the salt & it didn’t help and they were covered. i was told to get an all natural medicine & follow the steps & i would be set to go. day three on the medication ive lost two tetras(the owner told me ich doesnt kill the fish) i’ve tested my water, all the levels are good, the water temp is good. they suggested i have two temp gauges to make sure my water is staying at 80. i called to speak to the owner, we live out of town & when speaking to him, he told me that he didn’t have time to hear what was happening in my tank. & if i wanted to come up to the store and speak to him face to face i could. i told him i didn’t have the convenience to just come to the store & he followed with “then what do you want me to do” i tried explaining to him about how everything went & started & he told me that the lady who started my tank is and expert, and when i would go back to get help time after time, his other employees would tell me that she started my tank off with to many fish, i didn’t have the right essentials, i was feeding to much. so moral of the story, if you think that business is family owned & operated with a good heart, they’re far from it. the owner wouldn’t even offer me advice, just told me he didn’t have time for my stories. 👍🏼
I wish I didn’t live so far from here (although my wallet is probably happier!). The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, they have a wide selection of freshwater and saltwater fish, even coral and small animals- ferrets, guinea pigs, various birds, axolotl (soo cool!!), hamsters etc. The store smelled very clean and every tank was clean so I know they are spending a lot of time cleaning up after the animals. I was too busy looking at the wide selection of food, supplies, and animals that I didn’t think to take pictures. Would recommend and will definitely be buying more supplies for our various pets at home next time I come to or near Abilene for another Dr appointment!
