(from Google)Great open beach. A few shells. Cement bike/ walking path. Lots of room. Volleyball 🏐 courts. Bathrooms. Huge sand dune to slide down.... Plenty of free off street parking.
Lovely ! Bike trail clean and the perfect time to be there the weather was magnificent!
No bun fires on the sand should be enforced. It was a good reason to have that rule up to a few years ago. Not fun to walk into firewood piles at sunset, then next day into charred wood pieces on the sand. There is Dockweiler beach for lighting fires. Playa del Rey should remain (one of the last) pristine and peaceful beaches in LA county.
It may not be the biggest or fanciest of the LA Beaches but Playa Del Rey has a lot of charm and they’ve made great strides in cleaning this beach in recent years. It’s an excellent spot for bird watching!
I went on a Tuesday during sunset it was beautiful and peaceful hardly anyone there and the water was so warm great to swim I’ve never felt that in my life it was amazing because all the LA beaches I’ve seen to are freezing! Please keep this an uncrowded clean beach!
