(from Google)Great place. Very quiet and serene, except for the part that abuts the Turnpike. Lots of geese and ducks. I saw a family of white-tail scampering across a trail. Not a lot of places to sit, though. It feels like one of those zen Japanese gardens in the middle of Tokyo. You can't get away from the urbanism. The Walmart sign, H&M, Bob's, the cars on the Turnpike. But in the midst of all that urban sprawl is this last little bit of nature. They're already building something across from the self storage facility next to the old Best Buy. And they're also building something on the on-ramp to Rt 3 going toward the Lincoln past the Home Depot. They built apartments across Rt 3 from Giants Stadium. Every inch of the Meadowlands will be developed soon. So, this place is special in that regard.
I went to the Marsh Discovery Trail at Richard W. DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst, and it’s such a peaceful, easy walk. The half-mile boardwalk goes right over the water, with marsh grasses, open views, and plenty of birds all around. There are benches, shaded spots, and little viewing areas where you can just stop and watch. I saw egrets, ducks, and lots of red-winged blackbirds, and the Manhattan skyline in the distance made it even more special. The trail is flat and good for all ages.
Pretty nice. So random. It’s right next to a bobs furniture. Almost didn’t see anyone when I came. But did see a few a bobs furniture employees around here. Nice views but random highway and noises on the side. Traffic and birds and nature all in one. . It’s so Jersey
Love this marsh, I'm a nature photographer and I often find interesting birds here, also Snakes, plants and other wildlife. There is a homeless sleeping in a tent near highway 95 and the overpass, maybe he needs help.
This is a nice little wetland park by the mall. As of now (2024/05), the creek is low on water and it does not smell too well. I was lucky enough to spot a fox. There are many holes in the ground dug by groundhogs and I even saw a few groundhogs - big ones and small ones. Also there are many tiny crabs sunbathing on the banks of the creek.
