Westbury Animal Hospital

My puppy has a fractured leg and requires orthopedic surgery. I have been calling around looking for the best price and everyone else has been very helpful. He has already had x-rays and been evaluated by a vet. However, Westbury says they are unable to use and want me to pay for another visit and additional X-rays.

I calling around several animal clinics this morning trying to get their process and pricing for euthanizing our dog. Of course I know different clinics have different options so I was trying to compare apples to apples here. It is very difficult having to make this decision and having to call people and tell the same thing over and over is hard enough but to have businesses that try to take advantage of us is inexcusable. I called Westbury Animal Hospital and asked for pricing. She told me $79.50 for an office visit and if we want cremation with urn it would be $200 so the ESTIMATED cost would be $280-$290. I said ok... why is the price an estimation? I don't want to get there and think I am paying roughly $300 and then be surprised by any other fees. She kept repeating the prices above. So I said I just wanted to make sure that the price I will pay is roughly $300. She said she would have to find out... so she comes back to the phone and finally tells me that the total is $550! I was floored! I said wait what?? That is over $200 more than you originally told me... I said so if i had not asked exact pricing i would have gone in there thinking it was around $300 and then you spring it on me that no sorry now its $550!?? We are already having to deal with this right now and for them to be giving wrong pricing is so unethical! I am so angry right now!! I mean what do you do at that point?! You get your dog there and have already thought he was going to go and you prepare yourself and your family and then they spring it on you that sorry, we were wrong! Now your price is this! I mean do they think people will just say ok I will pay it?!?!?

This hospital truly cares for their patients. I was a worried dog mom searching for answers and without even stepping foot in the building they gave me clear feedback and addressed my concerns. I can only imagine the care and customer service they would provide if I needed to visit in person.

We took our pup here due to an injury. We did have to wait a couple of hours, but it was due to there being more severe injuries that they had to tend to first. I appreciated the fact that they came in frequently to update us on the wait. We spent the majority of our time in the evaluation room, so I didn’t have to stress about being in the waiting room with other pets. My pup was able to relax off leash during that time. We had X-rays and were prescribed medicine. I did pay a $250 deposit that went towards that, and did not have to pay too much more. Everyone seemed very friendly, and again, I really appreciated them constantly updating us on our wait. If we ever need an ER vet again, we will definitely go here. Highly recommend.

Always do a great job with my pet. Aggresive tiny Chihuahua and they were able to get his shots in and clip his nails with ZERO issues. They also helped my blind Husky who was attacked by vicious dogs and saved her life along with following up to remediate a possible infection to the wounds. The staff loves being there and always treats us with respect. If you were treated otherwise maybe you should look inwards towards your tone with people and dont look to receive free services anywhere. They were decently priced but any money paid towards a happy and healthy pet is worth their weight in gold.
