(from Google)Veg ER provided my baby Ace with exceptional care and attention. The staff made us feel comfortable and gave Ace his own little super soft blanket! Dr. Bailey was very informative and professional! With all that was happening in the ER, Jessie was able to care for other patients and still give Ace great customer service! I can only give 5 stars but the service was a 10 out of 10!
As the guardian of an extremely fearful dog who can experience severe fear, anxiety, and stress at the vet, I was genuinely blown away by the care we received at VEG. My dog’s body language was not only noticed, but deeply respected, and the team worked collaboratively to help him feel safe enough for handling and diagnostics using a compassionate, low-stress approach. The care extended to me as well with snacks, drinks, blankets, reassurance, clear communication during shift changes, and constant check-ins during an incredibly stressful experience. Potato recovered beautifully post-op, his incision looks amazing, and he came home clean, comfortable, and clearly well cared for. The open-concept environment fostered such a strong sense of collaboration, transparency, and community. You can feel how much VEG values continuing education, teamwork, and both human and animal emotional wellbeing. I left feeling incredibly grateful and hopeful for the future of the community at large.
Worst experience of our lives. Took our Cat Luna due to labored breathing. Although the place has all the necessary equipment to treat your pets, they completely lack empathy. I was there with my 11 year old, around 11pm, Luna is my kids first pet. Because the way we were sitting I was not facing my daughter but this Dr was, and she proceed to talk telling us that we had to put her down because she was going to die anyway. It wasn’t until I hear my daughter that I realized how the news had affected her. I had to call my husband to come stay with Luna while I took a completely unconsoled 11 year old home, that kept asking if we were going to put her down that night. Once all tests were done my husband called me in speaker while the Dr explained once again that we had to think about Luna quality of life and put her down or spend basically all our life’s savings, with a very dry tone and again zero empathy. Long story short we brought her home and took her to the a different place that specialized in her condition (heart disease), were the experience was the complete opposite. Luna passed away 8 months after that horrible visit, in our home with our family, no need to put her down and without any suffering, the day she passed she was acting completely normal, more importantly we didn’t spend all our life’s savings either, and my kids had 8 months to prepare and to spend with their amazing Luna. The decision to put down a pet is extremely difficult and even more when is your kids pet, Luna was so special and an important part in my family, and to have someone tell you to put her down after seeing her for an hour shows a huge detachment from this place and their patients. And by the way they charged me more that night than the specialist did when I took her. This place opens late which gives them the opportunity to have more people come in but my advice is if you can wait do it but if not always get a second opinion because that night I saw other people crying outside and it then hit me that we were not the only ones told that our pet was dying and to put them down right then and there, I truly hope they all got a second opinion as well. Will never recommend and will never forget the pain these people caused to my daughter and my family. I attached a picture of Luna and is not an old one is the most recent we had, just to make sure you understand that she look perfectly fine till the last day and had an amazing quality of life until she passed.
I just want to give a huge thank you to the team at VEG ER for Pets in Pikeville, Md. You all truly rock words can’t fully express how grateful we are for the care you gave my Moxy girl. Dr. Dwivedi, you were incredible. You really advocated for Moxy, and I honestly don’t think she would have made it through the day without you. You took the time to explain everything from start to finish with so much understanding and compassion. From the moment we walked in, everyone was attentive and ready to help—no questions asked. The kindness, empathy, and genuine care from every single staff member meant so much to us during such a stressful time. You made Moxy as comfortable as possible, even when she was so sick. The facility is spotless, and the hands-on approach from the entire team is truly remarkable. Honestly, the level of care you provide is better than what many human hospitals offer. I am beyond thankful for everything you did. We will always trust you with our pets. Thank you again—especially Dr. Dwivedi for everything. ❤️
We called ahead to get advice on treatment. When I arrived I was met at the door, triaged and my Bloodhound, who typically isn’t a good patient, was given an ultrasound and needle aspiration within 10 minutes of arrival. I was included in the care as his advocate, and we did the care in the open ER. I’m not sure my dog knew he was at the Vet! After the test we were offered a quiet room and staff made me comfortable with a coffee. After test results we were given our treatment plan and checkout was performed in the room, not at a desk. My test results and care plan were shared with my vet by VEG for follow on care. This was our second time there and both experiences went the same. Perfect
