Cull Canyon Regional Recreation Area

Cull Canyon Regional Recreation Area is a great spot to bring young kids for a day out! The lake was clean and enjoyable, and I really appreciated how many lifeguards were on duty keeping an eye on swimmers. The entry fee was very reasonable. The covered wooden canopy areas are first come, first served, so arrive early if you want shade. Otherwise, bring your own lawn chairs, beach blankets/mats, umbrellas, or even your own canopy and you’ll be set. There are BBQ grills available on-site (nice bonus), but note that personal BBQs and alcohol are not allowed. Overall, a fun, family-friendly place to relax and enjoy the outdoors!

I love this place because of the safety they provide for children and grown-ups with the lifeguards on duty. The only downside is they open too late and close super early. You only have a few hours to enjoy a summer day.

Loved this place. Came with my 4 littles. They loved swimming and as a mom I really loved how attentive the lifeguards are! Great place to bring your family.

We went there on a Thursday and the place was literally empty so we got to enjoy a clean and relaxing atmosphere and excellent customer service. Excellent experience all around. Plenty of parking both; ADA and otherwise. Plenty of bbq pits if you prefer to cook. Restrooms are clean

This park is small and I finished the whole loop within an hour. The swimming area was closed due to covi-19. I would skip this park and go a few miles down south to Don Castro which is a much nicer park. However, Cull Canyon does have a really nice area for picnicking. Hiking is not so great here. The park borders a lot of residential areas so you feel you have not left home. Also you will end up hiking next to the road for a big portion of the trail. Overall easy for hiking with some steep areas. Check it out if you are curious.
