Friendliest staff around!! 5-22 Update: Had to put down my cat Chilly. 😞 I was not able to stay in the room but my roommate did and she said Dr Reno just loved on him the entire time. He i.s a vet that cares about his patients 11-24 Update: we had a stray kitten come and adopt us, Dr. Reno did her spay. Awesome job 👌!!! A week later she was so sick I thought she had parvo so I brought her in, doctor Reno had no clue what was wrong with her had to believe her there and performed several tests. Come Friday we still didn't know what was wrong with her so he said leave her over the weekend, this man came in twice a day Saturday and Sunday to check on my kitten to make sure she was doing okay. I want to apologize to Dr Reno's wife right now because he made my kitten his Pet Project!!! She's been there for 5 days now I got to go in for a visitation thank you for that Dr Reno she is looking awesome and I'm hoping to bring her home within the next couple of days!! My roommate and myself will always bring any animals that we have to Dr Reno he is the best in Bakersfield!!! And yes we bring our dog there too.. 😆 Just not as often. Kitties get SICK Often. 😫

What a wonderful place to have my family of pets cared for. Very affordable, kind thoughtful staff. I am a Doodle Dog breeder and took my our 5 Doodle puppies for check up and shots. One of the staff said to me "we are old school Veterinarian" , I said that's what I like "Old School good service". I highly recommend for any one who wants the best care for their pet. The very best pet care from professional caring staff. 🐕😻

I found Mt. Vernon Veterinary Hospital when my Bernese mountain dog got very sick, Dr. Shane Reno was helping to save him, but we couldn't, the disease was progressing too aggressively. Many years have passed since the day my puppy passed away. All my other pets and one foster kitten were getting check-ups and care in Dr. Reno’s hospital. He was always caring and took the time to answer all the questions and concerns I had about my pets. * photos of Arya 🤗

I have brought my cat here multiple times for different reasons (deworming, sinus infection, torn nail) and have always had a great experience. If you walk in, it always takes about an hour which I do not mind waiting while looking at all the other cute pets! Dr. Shane Reno is very empathetic, explains everything to you step by step. Everything is pretty affordable, especially compared to the hospitals that are opened on the weekend. I can always trust that my cat is taken care of here, and she has always healed nicely after any reason I've taken here for. Highly recommend!!!

Took my fur baby to be put to sleep due to having cancer...and i felt it was a rushed time... i didnt really get time to say good bye when they sedated her.. i wish the dr was a little more compassionate to my last moments with my 10 year old rottweiler.. RIP my Mulan
