Tifft Nature Preserve is a peaceful escape right in the heart of Buffalo, even on a rainy day. The light drizzle actually made the experience feel more calm and refreshing — the scent of wet earth, the sound of rain tapping on the leaves, and fewer people on the trails made it feel like we had the place to ourselves. The trails are well-marked and easy to walk, winding through wetlands, meadows, and forested areas. We spotted a few birds and even a deer, despite the weather. The elevated boardwalks are a nice touch and keep you out of the muddy spots. Even in the rain, this place offers a perfect little getaway into nature — peaceful, quiet, and a great reminder that you don’t need sunshine to enjoy the outdoors. Definitely worth a visit if you need a break from the city without going far!

It’s Free….New trails are being added for wheelchairs and strollers. Beautiful scenery and benches throughout to sit and rest. There is also places for bird watching…really cool place, that will leave you in awe of creation.

Beautiful place with nice nature. It’s a bit too near the city to really have to wilderness feeling, but a nature preserve worth visiting. There are lots of trails to choose from which I liked, which offer different type of bioms, with woodland and wetlands.

Discovered this place by accident. We originally wanted to go to Outer harbor but saw a small pond that intrigued us. Then we realized we were on a nature preserve! It was amazing. It wasn’t crowded and it was so serene. I love the atmosphere here. What an incredible experience to have in the city of Buffalo. Would love to visit again and explore the other half we didn’t get to see. Might just come back with a picnic. Also got to see baby goslings!

I went for a walk at Tifft Nature Preserve and it was a truly beautiful experience. The trails were peaceful and well-maintained, surrounded by tall grasses, trees, and birdsong. It felt like a hidden escape from the city — quiet, calm, and full of nature. I even spotted some deer and a variety of birds along the way. Definitely a great spot to relax, reflect, or just enjoy a walk outdoors. Enjoy the experience there! ;)
