(from Google)What a wonderful trail. I walked the whole thing starting at Cooper Road trailhead. The Devil's backbone overlook was great and we saw a juvenile bald eagle. The signage at the beginning was great but sparse on the second half. It is right near some Penn State Behrend campus buildings but feels so remote and peaceful. Highly recommend.
Good for a quick nature walk. The trail is a short and well maintained loop trail. The water can be a little more difficult to get to, as it has steep shale on either side of the streambed. Also, be on the look out for snakes.
A trail that leads you to a spectacular view of the gorge with a sightline all the way to Lake Erie. A definite must see if you are in the Erie area. While I made the hike wearing sneakers, hiking boots would be a good idea in some areas as the trails can get quite muddy in areas.
Trails are nice and small loose rocks and dirt so it is easy to follow. Great place for beginners or people that like easy nature walks.
Amazing experience. Great views. The river bed was beautiful, and the water falls were very nice. The only down side was that it was extremely busy. People were very on top of you wherever you went. A lot of college students and people letting their dogs run free. The parking area was entirely to small for how busy this place gets.
