We finally found a good vet for our asthmatic cat when we started coming here. She had been to All Tails Vet multiple times for coughing spells and they never could find the issue, even with X-rays. One night she had to go to the ER Vet and she was diagnosed with asthma. Since I worked with employees currently at this vet while I worked at the local animal shelter we decided to switch to them and were so glad we did. The vet worked with us to determine what regular medication and routine was best suited for her and she has not had a flare up since. The only areas that need improvement are wait time, front desk, and parking. The older lady on the desk seems to answer faster and is friendlier when asking questions. The younger one can be rude at times and has refused to refill her prescription that she depends on before while the older lady has never had an issue doing so. Parking is a bit tight but manageable. As far as when you get inside you could wait up to 30 minutes in the waiting room and up to 30 minutes once you're in the exam room but it does beat a several hour wait at All Tails or the ER vet. Overall I plan to stay with this vet for the rest of my kitties' lives.

Horrible experience. Was there for almost 2 hours, spent most of my time waiting for dr.hart and when she saw my dog she wasn't informative at all. All of my questions were left unanswered. This was a basic exam, which I didn't receive any break down of what they tested my dog for or what they did with him.

Love this vet office and everyone who works here. I have been bringing our pets here ever since we moved here 7 years ago. The doctors and techs are knowledgeable, friendly, and really care about your pets. The office staff are always friendly when coming and going. Boone and Maple love them!

My last experience at this clinic was disappointing and frustrating. I brought my 1 year old pup in for her appointment and had to schedule with Dr. Dotson. We had never seen him before and our experience was completely unprofessional. From the moment he walked in the room, he seemed nervous to be around my dog. She is an Australian shepherd with lots of energy, so when he came in the room she was excited to see him. He seemed as if he was scared to be around my dog and didn’t want to touch her. When he first tried to give her a shot, he asked me to hold my dog down on the floor. This made her nervous and she began to squirm around. Since she was squirming, he was unable to give her the shot and almost poked my finger with the needle! Keep in mind there is a sign on the door that states “please allow vets and vet assistances only to handle your animals during appointments” So I’m not sure why I was even involved in the process considering there was a vet assistant in the room as well. Dr. Dotson made a comment that my dog raised her lips at him and he seemed scared to be around her. This never happened though! Even the vet assistant assured him that she never did that. After this they decided to take her out of the room to give her the shots. She was gone for about 5-10 minutes and when she came back she was acting very strange. She wouldn’t even walk out of the room after all of this had happened. Dr. Dotson then recommended that I pay for medication to calm her down for future appointments. Please keep in mind my dog has been to many vet appointments in the past and never has had an issue whatsoever! Very disappointing experience. Someone who works with animals full time shouldn’t be scared as soon as they walk in the door and meet them! She is a very friendly dog and never has issues. I do not recommend Dr. Dotson and would recommend trying to schedule an appointment with a different veterinarian!

Outstanding in every respect! This has been my mom‘s animal hospital for many many years, and today we had to say goodbye to my mom‘s 20 year-old dog. My mom is in her late 80s and was really struggling to say goodbye to Buffy. The doctors at Mountain Empire Animal Hospital handled the goodbye process with dignity and respect for both my mother and her dog. They were outstanding, as I’ve noted, but also compassionate, kind, and efficient. Thank you all for helping my mother and Buffy with this transition.
