Unfortunately, my scavenger doggo, maybe she probably ate something off the ground that she shouldn't have during a walk, within 30 min I noticed she was acting VERY STRANGE, falling over, peeing herself, startled; I completely panicked. I was in the midst of panic attack 😭😭 luckily THANK GOD it was only 10 minutes away to get her here in the middle of the night, yes this was a very expensive lesson for us to learn but I'm so grateful that she survived and she is now back to her rambunctious, trouble maker self and I wouldn't have it any other way. I couldn't imagine life without her. We are now currently working on muzzle training 💯 and a strong LEAVE ITTTT. WATCHING HER LIKE A HAWK.

I had the best experience with this hospital. The front lady Bethany was very nice and helpful with everything. As soon as we got there with our sick puppy she was quick to get us the help we needed. Also the vet techs that helped us with our puppy were Mazy and Shyann. They were incredibly helpful and informative throughout the whole process. They made sure all of our questions were answered and made sure our puppy received the best care. Unfortunately our puppy did not make it but these ladies made our experience less traumatizing and we felt supported by them with their help in deciding how we should let our puppy go. This is the best experience I’ve had with any animal hospital. Thank you to Bethany, Mazy, and Shayann for being so kind, understanding, and helpful.

I just went to this veterinary hospital today, assuming I’d have to pay a huge lump sum of money and be waiting for hours on end, but was thoroughly pleased and more than happy to bring my baby here! They immediately took him back (suspected urinary blockage), and from then moved us into a room. After the initial assessment they suggested bloodwork and a urinalysis, which after talking to the veterinarian, and another employee(assuming the technician), we decided to do the urinalysis then depending on the results-move forward with the blood work, purely based on cost and necessity. He ended up only needing the urinalysis as well as antibiotics, anti nausea meds, and some anti inflammatory medication- thank god! I absolutely loved how knowledgeable, personable, and gentle/caring the staff (including front desk) was towards us, and our baby. After asking if we could, she even brought me to the back to see my baby and taught me how to palpate his bladder so I can know when I need to be on the lookout pertaining to his litter habits. The whole experience we’ve had here with everyone we encountered today was very pleasant and welcoming. Yes, it was more expensive than the normal vet, but I already knew that going in. Being a 24 year old living off of her own income, I feared for the worst, but it wasn’t nearly as much money I expected to have to scrape my wallet for. Thank you, VCA vets and staff, you really shined today for us and my soul baby.

We went here for an emergency with our chihuahua. While the outcome wasnt what we wanted, this animal hospital took very good care of us. They immediately took our dog to the back for triage, when we got a room they went over the options. When we chose to put our dog to sleep, they left the room and gave us all the time we wanted to spend with her before the procedure. Afterwards they gave us even more time. They gave us nose and paw stamps, and a bottled bunch of her fur. They treated us with the upmost care and attention. Then a few days later we recieved the sweetest hand written letter from the staff at the hospital. Yes its an emergency vet so the cost is going to be more. But if I had to spend extra on the well being of my pet I would choose VCA on Calder everytime!

We are so thankful for the compassionate care shown during the emergency euthanasia of our sweet Chihuahua, Cookie, yesterday. The staff was attentive, gave us private time with her, and even sent us home with memory pins and wildflower seeds in her honor. Truly grateful for their kindness.
