Congaree Creek Heritage Preserve

A beautiful hidden gem! We saw a variety of birds, (squirrels, of course), deer and a coyote! We were so glad that we visited this little treasure. ❤️

We had an awesome time at Congaree Creek Heritage Preserve! our family absolutely loved it! The trails are really pretty and peaceful, with lots of trees and nature all around. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re getting away from everything, even though it’s not a long drive. It was a great spot to walk, explore, and take pictures. If you’re looking for something simple and relaxing to do outdoors (especially with kids), I definitely recommend checking it out. Just wear comfy shoes and bring some water. We can’t wait to go back!

Always peaceful and quiet. Trail is easy walking. There are a couple places where the trailer is or may be flooded, depending on the amount of rain.

Me and my sister decided to come visit after seeing the reviews about the chance to see alligator. Shes a wildlife photographer and was able to get some amazing shots here. A flourishing swamp ecosystem with Great blue herons, another heron we can’t identify, a family of deer, and of course we got to see an alligator!!!! I was pretty scared at first but he was just chilling and we kept our distance lol but we were so grateful for the amazing opportunity to see one out in the wild. Would recommend this creek to anyone interested in wild animals and isn’t too afraid to be near them.

It was nice. But started to rain. Didn't get the full experience. Spotted a very big alligator. Might be a trail to bring somebody along with you. Definitely wait when it has been no rain for a few days. Can get very muddy and puddly quick.
