(from Google)Love this trail! Can be a bit overgrown in spots to wear some tick protection and watch out for ivy!
The trails are not well maintained and it's rough.. difficult trails. Not a good way to the fall either. Just mostly jungle walking trails with one good lookout point .
The hike going down to the waterfall was mildly easy. Coming up was a bit difficult. But there's plenty of places to stop and rest. We're here the 3rd week of October. The weather is absolutely beautiful for this type of hike.
This was a decent hiking area. There is definitely a lot of trail maintenance that is needed right now. There are lots of fallen trees. We ended up getting some severe weather while we were hiking. Luckily there were lots of rocky outcroppings and we had good cover while it was lightning. We didn’t see very many people on the trail the whole time we were there. More trees had fallen by the time we were making our way out and had part of the path blocked. We cut through the golf course to get out. I would definitely go back since it is so close to our new home. I hope there is some maintenance on the trails first.
It can be a little challenging to actually find the trail, but overall a really amazing hike. Just be careful because we ran into a copper head snake. The snake blended in really well with the ground, so definitely be aware of your surroundings. I loved how many flowers were around this spot. We mainly did the smaller mileage route for this one, but I'll be going back to try hiking the longer distance one.
