(from Google)Love coming here, lots of trails, a playground for the kids, great pier and watch tower. Always calm and relaxing and never too crowded.
This is a LARGE park. It seems to have a lot of amenities, including plenty of restrooms, picnic tables, and picnic shelters, and we saw at least one hike-in camping area plus some 30-amp plugs in a parking lot...plus there's a little train and playground. However, the signage is poor and somewhat confusing, and we never found a map of the park. There's a paved bike path, plus multiple dirt and sand hiking paths. I would recommend bringing a compass. We hiked for an hour on a "loop" trail and had to use Google Maps to find our way back to the car...because the "loop" dumps you out onto the park road and stops...not at the lot where you started. The boat ramp goes down to a mud pit. The "lake" is almost completely dry as of January 2, 2026. I found lotus pods among the dead yellow grasses, so I know there used to be water, but only a few shallow pools remained with the largest one being maybe 15x15 feet.
Great county park with tons going on. We had a short visit but we loved the loop trail and hope to come back for more hiking and to see the train.
Nice place to picnic pavilions, play ground for kids, boardwalk out to lake, lots of parking multiple various lots. There is also an observation tower I have not located it yet. Just a nice place to stroll early am with the dog, dogs must stay and be on 6ft leash. Clean up after dogs required however no bags so bring some from home! Lots of wildlife, lots of huge trees, gets very hot wouldn't recommend past 1130 on any day in Florida. You will melt. Playgrounds at first turn for kids.
Cool park to explore. Wish there were longer trails. Definitely a fun place if you have younger kids. The playgrounds have lots of fun activities and there's even a train station with a working train kids can ride on. (Times/Days varying ) The boardwalk and observation deck are really cool. Can't beat the view!!
