(from Google)Went to Discus madness for the first time today. They have a huge inventory with every color and size Discus imaginable. The fish were all extremely colorful and healthy. The staff was also very friendly and knowledgeable. I took home the beautiful Discus in this photo. Highly recommend!!
Great communication, I purchased a school of similis corydoras online and they took appropriate actions monitoring harsh temps before safely sending them out. Every one of the fish arrived safely and still warm, once properly let out in my quarantine tank they were already active and happily searching around. Totally recommend! Very happy with my purchase.
If your a discus enthusiast look no further place is a gem it hits all the check marks place is spotless both in and out of tanks fish literally glow I'm sure their lighting helps but it shows you the extra length taken to showcase the fish. I also did not find not one deceased or sick fish in any of the tanks which i dont yhink ive ever experienced in any aquatic store The magic happens when you interact with the staff patience knowledge and experience and they handle all questions with an answer no matter how lame. The only downside to going in person is once your in your there your choices are endless one tank is better than the next get ready to spend. In terms of pricing very very fair in for the type of the quality your getting. Well worth my trip from Queens NY on New year's eve. Definitely will be back.
spent nearly $200 on tank products only. An employee advised me to buy from them the used sponges instead brand new because they contained beneficial bacteria. Later, on night I saw what appeared to be a large number of parasites (see attached pictures). I obviously didn’t want that in my home, so I discarded the sponges. When I returned to the store, he looked at me as if I was ignorant for throwing both sponges away, and the only explanation he gave me was, “Those are worms we feed to the fish here, and they hide in the sponges.” They didn’t even apologize for not mentioning the worms, nothing at all beyond what I described above. It was so upsetting. I ended up cleaning and throwing everything out that same night, driving myself crazy over it… horrible experience with them. Edited: It’s crazy how other customers in their reviews (old post) are also talking about parasites and worms from this store. Thank God I didn’t buy any fish. I only bought things to get the tank ready—plants (which went straight into the garbage), air system; air pump, tubing, sponges, a heater, and other accessories, but no fish. This place is disgusting 🤮 . I wish I could post the video.
I really like the method in which they ship here. I also really enjoy the beauty of the fish. My deep red turquoise and Smokey white butterfly breeder pair exceeded expectations. Thank you, Discus Madness! I can’t wait to get more.
