Millstone Kennels

For well over 20 years we have boarded our dogs and cats at Millstone Kennels. The facility is always remarkably clean and Chuck and Kathy know each animal personally. Our dogs whine with anticipation and strain to get in the door each time we arrive. In turn we are able to go on vacation without worrying whether our dogs will be well cared for. We know they will be and have never been disappointed. Chuck and Kathy are both professional and personable. They are meticulous in providing each animal with a safe, clean home away from home. We have heard stories from friends about bad experiences at other kennels. Millstone, on the other hand, has always performed above expectations. The caring attitude does not stop with the animals. When we had to board our pets unexpectedly due to a death in the family Chuck and Kathy not only accommodated us, but, in a remarkable and classy gesture of good will, refused payment for these days. This was something we would never have expected. It is also something we will never forget. We consider Chuck and Kathy Fishel friends. So do our pets. We are not sure how many “stars” you can rate a kennel, but whatever it is, we would rate this establishment, and these people, one star over the maximum.

WARNING, never use this Kennel! we told the owner over the phone that our 6lb dog had anxiety issues and would nip when scared. He said it would be ok and promptly took our 70 dollar security deposit. Then the day we dropped her off she was there less then five minutes and the owner called me to come pick her up. he also said we would not get our deposit back. We took her to another place and she is perfectly fine, enjoying her stay and playing with other dogs. seems like a scam business to me !

Chuck allowed me to take an impromptu tour of the kennel without hesitation. That was the first indicator of an A+ kennel. I know my dog will be safe and cared for while we are away. Chuck makes our 11 year old Cane Corso’s stay as comfortable as possible providing rubber mats in Ace’s kennel so he can get up and move around easier. It’s not easy for him to move around at 11 yrs old.

We had visited Millstones Kennels and wouldn't go anywhere else. Clean with friendly staff and they took care of my German Shepherd 😁. Very happy with the fact that do not let the dog out together. For the bad reviews that were give I wouldn't want my dogs in a kennel where immunizations aren't required I don't want my dog sick because someone doesn't take care of there dog. And for the person with the aggressive dog they need to clean the kennels so maybe keep your aggressive dog at home. This is a wonderful place with wonderful caring people.

I have been taking my dogs there about 7 years or so. Currently, I have an unruly large breed dog, and always liked that we were allowed to put him in the kennel, and he had access to outdoors safely, and the crew were safe too.... this past year I made reservation, and was told I gave the wrong date, so they posted me as a "no show"....(after I've been a customer so long) I've got an idea, send out a postcard to confirm, it's $0.48 cents for a stamp! I was also charged for that day he wasn't there. But what was worse was that the owner proceeded to tell me that last year he had trouble with my dog, and he was in the kennel with him, and had to use the dog's metal cot for protection. I almost lost it. That is my BABY! You are not a circus lion trainer! You know he's a dangerous breed, and you know to stay away, but YOU chose to get in the kennel with him and mistreat him and got upset because he was being aggressive. A cane corso is a far cry from your Rhodesian Ridgebacks, so you probably shouldn't take one on. It took me a year to post this because I didn't want to be damaging, but honestly, I've decided to not go on vacation until my dog is gone so that he doesn't have to be subjected to that again. Millstone, I hope more people open their eyes to your ways, or you change them, but you'll never see any of my dogs again.
