(from Google)Valley Stream State Park is one of my favorite local spots. It’s literally two exits before my home, so I find myself stopping by all the time. Whether I need to clear my head, get a quick walk in, or just breathe some fresh air, it’s the perfect place. The park is always well-kept, peaceful, and easy to access. It’s great for walking, light exercise, or just taking a break from a busy day. I really appreciate having something like this so close to home. Definitely a hidden gem in the area.
A nice and clean park with picnic area and plenty of grills. Perfect for gathering for families and groups. They recently rebuilt the playground area so the younger kids are loving it. The park is very walkable with bike path, although it is smaller than other state parks. The fact that it is literally right off the highway make it very easy to bring the kids there and to pick-up/drop-off.
This was a great park for an everyday visit of intimate gatherings. The playgrounds were great and had a toddler and older kid section, sand pits. There were bbq available and lots of trees and shade. The parking is $8. My kids had a great time and we went for a family reunion. Lovely.
I love visiting this park for grill outs. No matter how busy it seems to get, there's always a grill available. I also love the path for walking around the park. I haven't personally ridden a bike on the path, but I have seen others do so as well as roller skate. There are also a couple of benches along the path to rest. There is a bench located at one of the streams where the ducks swim around. It's a really relaxing spot. In the warm months the park is gorgeous with more ducks, bird calls, and blooming flowers. In the warm months there's also an ice cream struck stationed in the park. There's plenty of parking and restrooms available for most of the day. A playground for kids and several grills and picnic tables. There's also plenty of room to set up a hammock and picnic tent wherever you decide to station yourself.
Valley Stream State Park is a fantastic spot for a family or group outing. I recently visited with family and friends for a BBQ, and we had a great time. The park offers plenty of open space, making it easy to find a spot to set up and relax. There's also ample parking, though it comes with an $8.00 fee. The facilities are well-maintained, with clean public restrooms and numerous playgrounds that kept the kids entertained for hours. For those who enjoy sports, the basketball courts are an added bonus. The park is impressively clean, making it a pleasant environment for everyone. Overall, it's a great place for a day out with loved ones.
