Falls of the Big Sioux River

Great experience, I visited this place in winter and summer. Both season are amazing..

Wow, this is a wonderful set of waterfalls! I think the white falling water looks especially nice against the pink of the Sioux quartzite. It is a nice waterfall to visit if you have the chance.

Very nice area and you are up close and personal with the falls. The cashiers in the tower were kind. The look out from the tower was amazing and overlooked the falls.

July 19, 2025 So glad we went to see this. This may be one of the most beautiful natural landscapes I have ever seen. It is a must see if visiting Sioux Falls. The park is very well kept. There's a certain serenity there even with a lot of people around. You can walk all over the rocks right to the side of the river. There are walking paths everywhere to travel to all the great vantage points. The only minor hiccup is that parking can be difficult to find. Please put this on your list.

These falls are the centerpiece of Falls Park. They offer some great views, sounds and picture opportunities when visiting the park. Although you can walk right up to the river's edge, the falls are a little more protected and rightfully so because of the danger they could be. The park has some great viewing areas from both sides of the river. It was not too crowded during our visit and the people were nice and respectful. Would recommend visiting the park and viewing the falls if you are in the area.
