Highly worth visiting for vibes and information, even if you've got ski and climbing gear exploding out the tailgate. The owners of this store, Dani and Jeff, are incredibly generous with trail advice, conditions beta, gear knowledge, and also town lore. Wide selection of high-end demo skis at affordable prices ($50 for 1 day, $80 for 2). Afterwards, Dani and Jeff even advise you on comparable skis, even if they don't stock them in store (aka gonna have to buy elsewhere). Their store is thoughtful curated with great sales. I snagged a sweet pair of softshell pants for less than *anywhere else* online, THIS is why you should shop your local brick and mortar gear store!!! Jeff fixed up my partner's splitboard mountings for free, and then waxed it within 30 minutes. I also don't understand how he can take one look at my BCA poles, instantly recognize the basket thread size and replace with perfect-fitting BD ones. They really know their gear here. Can't wait to visit Fifth Season again next time we're in town. I've shopped gear stores in mountains towns all over, and these guys are the most approachable, best service of them all.

They have to put in place a policy to allow for taking advantage of the nocturnal skiing at Mt. Shasta without having to pay for one extra day for the rental equipment. Mt. Shasta resort offers skiing on Friday night until 7 pm; the rental shop closes at 6 pm. Last year it was suggested to us (by the people at the shop) that, if we brought the skis back by Saturday opening hours (8 am), we will not be charged another rental day. That seemed fair and showed good will. This year the lady owner did not want to hear about that (saying that "I am the owner and I make the rules") which seemed very much in bad taste considering that we had paid $500+ for the rentals. It looked like they were pressing hard to squeeze in any possible dollar. I brought the rental equipment back at 7:59 am on Saturday expecting them to say something about the situation but I got nothing. Again, it seemed a bit cheap and in bad taste and unfortunately this is the feeling we are left with from the experience.

I have been an adventure guide and educator for 14 years. I've worked in the retail/service industry. I am a small business owner... This is the best store I've ever been in. Their selection, great deals when possible, and customer service is top tier. I'll go out of my way to support them in the future.

Always excellent service and a wonderfully curated selection of outdoor gear and clothing. I've been able to find top quality items here that I haven't been able to find in larger cities or chain shops like REI. We are so lucky to have this shop in our community!

We were visiting Mount Shasta from out of town and needed some new shoes. We stopped by twice, once for myself and once for my husband. Both times were helped by Jesse who brought out several different options and we both found exactly what we were looking for. Great customer service, very friendly staff.
