(from Google)Visited in early Nov. There is a variety of trails. Most are easy and not too long, suitable for young kids and dogs. The NY skyline, 911 memorial, and multiple parking spots are huge pluses.
The perfect balance of distance, scenic enjoyment and ease for younger 7-15 yr old group members. We walked the yellow red trail around the park. We did lose track of the red and ended up following what we believed to be purple thinking we were still following Red .. The maps scattered around the trails made it for an easy correction onto White and back to the trailhead. Note we home in a very free spirited way because the anent ads to the fun. Great for a afternoon family outing. If you pack sandwiches you can take advantage of a lockbox area nearing the end of the trail. Loved the Sunday afternoon Hike! Total of 4 miles because we went off trail a bit a few times.
It's a great place to go and take a walk by yourself or Walk your dog or even with your Family. I just like to go and walk around by myself and let my thoughts wander. And relax.
Beautiful especially between 8am and 10am in May.
Highest point on the east side, across the Manhattan, and Jersey City. Amazing 9/11 memorial of Essex County. Must visit here!!!
