(from Google)first time in the store today. we currently purchase Nutri Source so when i googled where in Redding (since we just moved here) could we purchase it. so glad i came in to Happy Tails! Jana was AMAZING! so helpful and informative on what i was asking. i liked that she wasn’t pushing on me purchasing what she was showing me-she gave me information brochures to look over with my husband. definitely loving what we are reading and will be back to purchase. she even asked about our animals- she was very pleasant to chat with. gave us complimentary treats from their bakery. let me tell you our Mastiff is PICKY-he loved the treats!! Thank you Jana! 😃
Happy Tails is such a gem of a local pet store! They always have an amazing variety of pet foods, treats, and accessories – way more options than you’d ever find in a big box store. I love that I can find healthy, high-quality food for my dog and fun toys or accessories all in one place. and I love that They have the pet tag machine so I can customize my animals pet tags right there without having to order anything online! The staff is super friendly and always willing to answer questions or help me find something new to try. You can really tell they care about pets and the people who love them. It’s so nice to support a local business that goes above and beyond. Highly recommend Happy Tails for anyone who wants the best for their pets!
I've been shopping at Happy Tails for about three years, and have always found the staff to be friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Two days ago I purchased a $25 dog toy with a durability rating of 9 out of 10 - pretty tough. Knowing my dog can be rough with toys, I asked whether there was a 30-day warranty on such an expensive toy and was told there was not. I watched my dog carefully when he had the toy to ensure he was being gentle with it, but within 24 hours of bringing it home, there was a gaping hole where the elephant's trunk meets the body. Knowing there was no warranty, I phoned the store to ask if the toys aren't at least warranted for 24 hours! And no, they are not. IMO that is an unreasonable policy. I went to the manufacturer's website to try to get satisfaction there, and they've got a lot of hoops for customers to jump through in order to get a replacement (no refunds), including a requirement to create an account and to pre-pay a $5.25 S&H fee IF they agree to replace the item. I'm not doing that. I have returned opened dry food in the past when there was a problem with it, and I don't understand why their policy on toys is different from the policy on food. This incident leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and I may well take my business to a competitor the next time I'm in town.
Realized I forgot some things while road tripping and camping with my pup. This shop was very organized and able to help with almost all I was missing. They had nice lighted collars, a great selection of treats, and frozen chicken necks. I was hoping for a travel bed (Chuckit makes a nice one), but they didn’t have any. The gentleman working was helpful, though not particularly friendly. That said, it was a positive experience overall, and I would def go back.
This is a fun little pet store. The only one in Redding that I know of that has both that has a bakery for dog treats. The owner was there and seemed extremely nice. I was there 10 or 15 years ago and there Was a is dog trainer there. Give me a few tips on how to make my dog behave. I guess treats are the motivator in any dog's life, And most humans as well lol
