Sugarpine Drive-In

Super cool restaurant with unique selection of food and ice cream. The waffle grilled cheese is very good, and so are their sundaes. Prices are to be expected for the gorge.

Food was good! Service: they automate 20% service fee regardless of your party size and you bus your table (?!) Atmosphere: really cute, totally ig worthy Parking: this is where I hate it. The restaurant has a small lot that parks like 10 cars, but there is a bigger lot next to them that requires pay to park. Of course not a lot of people are made aware, especially if it's your first time here like us. We got a citation for unpaid parking, along with multiple other cars. I mentioned this to the team as this is so frustrating for first time diners here. Either the city makes a bigger sign, or the restaurant could be proactive and warn us about paid parking so customers dont leave frustrated. It's $2/h for parking but citation starts at $28.95.

Savory food is fresh, seasonal, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Creamy soft serve, unique toppings. Nice grassy area to eat in the sun. Hits every single time. The line looks intimidating, but you get your ice cream quickly and savory food usually takes 15-20 mins

The only thing I'm bummed about is the fact that I didnt know about this sooner!! Sugarpine is awesome. After a good morning filled of hiking, we stopped by for lunch to refuel and were amazed. We had the Pulled Porchetta, Sugarpine Salad, and made sure we saved room for dessert because their icecream looked insane (it was). The food looked almost as good as it tasted. The sandwich was packed with flavor and kept you coming back for more. The salad was fresh and had great ingredients. For dessert we had The Larch Mountain Sundae and it was out of this world. They have some seating in the main dining area but the majority of it is covered outside. FYI, you order at a window and then they bring food out to you so it is self serve for the most part. They also automatically add 20%. Great spot on your way back into Portland. Highly recommend!!

Such a pretty sandwich and soft serve! 🍦✨ The TASTE THE RAINBOW is amazing! 🌈 It’s not just about the veggies, it’s super flavorful and delicious! 🥗💖 Their swirl looks so pretty and it’s really popular too! I got the vegan one with toppings, and you can choose your own toppings! 🍓🥥 It was creamy and refreshing, I totally recommend it! 😋💫
