The preserve offers several well-marked hiking loops of varying difficulty, with a nice mix of terrain - dirt trails (likely muddy after rain), sand, grassy paths, and scenic boardwalks. The visitor center is impressive, with thoughtful interpretive exhibits and clean restrooms. It’s staffed and well maintained, which adds to the overall experience. One of the best parts? It’s blissfully free of dogs, making it especially peaceful - just you, the trails, and nature. Despite feeling tucked away, it’s conveniently located near some of the busier areas of Orlando, making it an easy escape from the hubbub. A few tips: wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots, and bring a sunhat, sunscreen, bug spray, and snacks. There are no concessions, but there is a refillable water bottle station near the restrooms. Highly recommended!
Such a fantastic hidden gem in Orlando. This is a great place if you’re tired of theme parks or just want to experience nature. The walk is easy but gorgeous. The people at the nature center are amazing and very accommodating. Wildlife is very easy to see.
Very nice trails. Very rooty so come in good shoes, parts are muddy and mucky. Nice quite walking trails in the middle of the city!
I recently visited Tibet-Butler Nature Preserve, and it was a peaceful and enjoyable experience. The trails are well-maintained and easy to follow, and there’s a nice variety of wildlife and plants to see along the way. I liked taking a slow walk through the shaded paths and just enjoying the quiet. It’s a great spot to get away from the city for a while and connect with nature. I’ll definitely visit again.
Great little park. Easy access if you have a car and you’re in the Disney World area. I visited in September so it gets quite hot by late morning. Very cool and different environments right next to each other. Took pictures of lots of wildflowers and also ran into a gopher tortoise. Bring water on your hike and take a break at the Osprey overlook.
