(from Google)Love this park, feels safe with other people who also walk or run in the park. I see the same people each day! By the way, a walk around the park is about one mile. Besides walking or running, there are plenty of other things to do. For example, the Nelson Center is a good place for swimming and ice skating. There are frisbee golf players from time to time. And a couple of nice playgrounds for the kids. All in all, a great place to enjoy a quiet morning or a fun activity.
Very beautiful park! We are so glad we stopped here on the way to the greater Chicago area. We loved the Lincoln Monument!
I'm kinda into history and lincoln is my favorite president so I might have a skewed opinion but I loved visiting Lincolns tomb it was a very moving experience and I intend on going again in the future. The war memorials are very impressive and moving as well. The grounds are beautiful and well manicured. Their was a comfort station near Lincolns tomb and I was totally shocked at how clean it was but the water was lukewarm at best so bring hands sanitizer.
Beautiful place. Went for a nice walk. It's so peaceful here.
Good place to visit for anyone who is interested in history. There was a very knowledgeable guide inside the Lincoln Memorial. Clean restrooms are on the left side of the parking by the Memorial. The whole cemetery seems to be old and worth walk around; lots of old grave markers. Some of them are so beautiful like the museum quality art and seem out of place, like those few ancient Greece style columns on the other side of the drive leading to the parking lot. The cemetery is, in my opinion, well kept.
