Cook's Landing Park

Another awesome experience with the view of the color lit big dam in the night! You can take a stroll across the dam. Loved the beautiful sunset view/ color lightings.

Excellent walking and biking trail. Most bikers are respectful of us walkers with a “biker up,” or bell ring. You never know how many lights will be operational as you approach or go over the bridge, but it has enough lighting to be safe. Unfortunately there are dog walkers who do not clean up after their pup on the sidewalks which is really annoying. You never know what wildlife you will see. We have seen deer, rabbits, coyotes, armadillos, all kinds of birds, and a beaver.

This is a great area to go on a low impact walk. Not a lot of incline/decline on the trail side, and easy access to the bridge. Do be careful of snakes on principle. Restrooms are easy to access and clean.

This is a great park for walking, biking, fishing, having a picnic, admiring sunsets and watching wildlife. The wooded and greenery areas are usually pretty clean, but the backflow area behind the hydroelectric plant is unfortunately filled with litter. Sometimes when I'm really depressed or anxious, I come here to relax and it almost always helps.
