(from Google)Love this park. I will drive ten minutes from my apartment to come here and walk my dog. The paths/trails stretch a pretty good distance- multiple blocks worth (from Big Stacy park to Little Stacy park). There WAS *one* bad experience- there’s an area by Little Stacy that is a small area that kind of looks like a “baseball” field. Despite the sign riiiight in front of it saying “All Dogs Must Be On A Leash” this dude had his dogs running all around. You know, sure, if they aren’t aggressive (I always keep mine on one though). But…as I was walking my 10lb handicapped dog past the area, this guy’s dog that was about six times the size of mine runs up and starts trying to attack her. Snarling. Trying to bite her. And she’s running all around me trying to hide and I’m trying to protect her and pick her up. I mean, it WAS an isolated experience (I’d hope?) so it won’t take the rating down from the actual park from that single time. I guess just be aware, just in case. Regardless, it is a nice park to walk though.
Short but nice urban trail connecting two neighborhood parks
Nice public park between big and little Stacy pools. Good for a walk, a bike, dogs, a game of catch, cruising your onewheel... kids... there are playgrounds at each end of the park.
Went on a walk down the creek that runs under Larry Monroe Forever bridge with my boyfriend just to kill some time on a Saturday and get some fresh air. The creek was a little dried up this time of year, but it still made for a great little trek. We found some cool spots to sit and enjoy nature along the creek until we reached a spot that was full of water that we could no longer walk through. Beautiful greenbelt!
A hidden gem just a few blocks east of S. Congress, terrific trail runs from Riverside to Live Oak, with Little Stacy Park at one end with playground, kids' pool, basketball, grass volleyball, and tennis courts, then Big Stacy pool at the other, open year-round & free. Plenty of open space to play ball and benches scattered throughout. Never crowded as it's mostly locals.
