(from Google)I love the Crepe Place- the wood and ferns decor, the frequent live music, the friendly atmosphere, and the huge Cobb salad. But don't go there on a Monday just to try the taco special. By 6:30 they were out of the meat option, and the veggie one consisted of unseasoned white beans and shredded cabbage with no sauce to add flavor or moisture, except for a too-spicy thin salsa on the side. We ate a couple bites and left.
Loved my dessert crepe. Pesto and brie crepe was also very good. They have heaters outdoors fortunately.
You would never know this place has a peaceful sunny garden in the back. The crêpes were delicious, I had a vegan one with chicken, mushrooms and mozzarella! So good! I also had an apple juice. My friends has a different option and also loved it (second time coming here)
We came here for the first time before a show at the Rio across the street. We gave ourselves an hour and a half before showtime. The place has a very Santa Cruz vibe and I loved all the old movie posters on the walls. Our server was friendly and brought our drinks and later dinner salad and bread in a reasonable time, but the crepes took an hour from when we got our menus. At The Crepe Place?! They were tasty. But plan accordingly.
Oh all the years I missed out on this place! I just went for the first time last night and finished my leftovers today, and I want to go back already! With its unique layout and old wood historic architecture to maneuver through to its quaint seating area and garden patio with live music it's an experience just in that. But then... There is the service and the food! Absolutely spectacular on all levels! (Well the only minor suggestion would be less salt in the clam chowder) The friendly and well trained staff was helpful & knowledgeable and the right kind of attentive. I got a crepe with the meal option and probably ate too much of the delicious warm honey baked bread before the huge crepe plate arrived. The crepe was cooked perfectly as were the mushrooms, chicken, asparagus, and melted cheese. The dill sauce for dipping was exceptional solo and even more so combined with the crepe delight. I must say it was still fantastic heated up or cold the next day. I will crave this place and look forward to returning! The first round we did unexpectedly end up there as a live band was wrapping up. It was not what we were looking for or particularly in the mood for with the sound level and amount of drunk people, but the food and service was well worth it. We will be more aware next time to check the event schedule there next time. I can say it seems they have some very favored bands play there.
