(from Google)We've had to bring our 2 year old St Bernard in twice in the last month for seizures and have had good experiences both times but especially our last visit. His first visit was for a first seizure, we were very worried and the vet was very kind and understanding. My only wish was that they would have discussed emergency medication options just in case of a 2nd seizure. He had a severe 8 minute seizure shortly after we got home and we had no way to stop it. We saw our regular vet right after and he was started on meds. I ended up needing to call Blue Pearl that night because he had a rare adverse reaction to one of the meds our vet prescribed. Tate couldn't stand and we were unable to get him in the car to bring him in but the vet spoke with me personally and was very helpful. Our last visit was really great, we had to bring Tate in for treatment to stop a cluster seizure episode as his emergency meds at home didn't work. They were knowledgeable about epilepsy, did a great job giving him emergency medications to stop the seizures and added a second daily medication for better control long term. I really wish I could remember our vet techs name, he was absolutely fantastic! Unfortunately we couldn't afford everything they reccomended but they were very understanding of our situation and created a treatment plan with the most important things to stabilize him with the amount of money we had. We hope we never have to come back but know if we do that Tate will be in good hands.
My Ridgeback was having some back issues so I took him to Blue Pearl on a Sunday. From start to finish the experience was top notch. Thank you to all the staff. Toka is doing much better and is still in fact a very good boy.
Compassionate and capable staff all around---they are true animal lovers. From our initial emergency visit with Casey to the follow up appointment with Dr. Toraason, our experience was very good. We arrived late at night extremely worried after our 10 year old Electus experienced a fainting/seizure episode, and we were well received and taken seriously right away. The level of communication and care were extraordinary. I'm sure Blue Pearl is not the least expensive option for your pet, but sometimes you get what you pay for. :)
Excellent reptile vet! Very knowledgeable about bearded dragons and took great care of him. He even called later with results, which I appreciated. I drive from Sarasota to see him and highly recommend!
Be careful double check diagnosis. . think they use inexperienced doctors for off hours late/early shifts. Excellent care in daytime. However at 1AM 2-12/25 I my 15 1/2 yr old Terrier had a seizure 10 mins, drooling paws stretched uncontrollably. Dr said it was a bad dream. Come back later if this happens again. They said further blood work would be done at that time. Gave cost estimate of $1,700. It happened 5 times immediately when we returned home from 3AM. -5AM. I prayed then asked Google (which I typically don’t trust). Put calm music on, cooled him off putting paws in cool water & wiped him down with damp cool cloth until 10 am occasionally ( No seizures . We made it to our wonderful vet. They did blood work accessed him wrote seizure prescription at 10 am. Vet bill $300 & Publix Rx was $12. I’m glad I waited. Not sure if I’ll use this place again during an emergency!
