(from Google)I should have know Banfield would play Banfield games! I brought a pet to them over 10 years ago to get vaccines and got a free exam. I'm on a fixed income so I was very specific in asking them in two separate phone calls if that was going to prevent me from getting a free exam for my cat. I had enough to cover everything else if the initial exam was free. I wanted to know if the exam wasn't going to be free because if it wasn't I was going to wait another month to have the full amount but they assured me. So how humiliated I was when I had to tell them in front of a waiting room full of people that I couldn't afford the visit. How humiliating that I had to take my animal and leave in front of everyone. I got far enough away from their parking lot for no one to see me parked my car and just cried. If Banfield was the last veterinarian office on the face of the planet and I had all the money in the world I would not go back!
I chose not to try Banfield with my first puppy because of negative reviews. I regret not giving them a chance sooner. When I got my second corgi, I decided to try it, and Banfield has exceeded every expectation I had. The staff is friendly and genuinely caring. Scheduling is easy, and the Wellness Plan has been an incredible value, all of my pups’ costs have been covered, which has been such a relief. What’s made the biggest difference, though, is availability. If you’ve tried to get a sick pet seen quickly in Portland, you know how impossible it can be, most places schedule you out a week or more. Not Banfield! Being able to get same-day or next-day appointments has been a game changer. Finding a vet willing to see my doggies promptly when they’ve been sick used to be a constant struggle. My younger corgi Poppy (8 months old and thriving!) has had the benefit of great care from day one. If you’re on the fence because of negative reviews, I’d encourage you to give them a try. I wish I had done it years ago!
I have gone here at least 3 times to get my elder cat sorted. He started going to the bathroom on the floor (he is 17 so the range of things it could be was wide.) We got him lower litter boxes, no more bathroom on the floor. He has a heart murmur, anemia, diabetes, and he is dehydrated. (No cancer though 🥳) They have been so much help, you can openly talk with them about not being able to afford things at all times.
I've gotten fantastic care for my aging kitty. I'm very glad they have been walking through the end of life process with me.
My baby loves the people that take care of her but wish they didn't want her to take medicine before her appointment so they could see her real personality and could see how wonderful my baby is .when herself and not on pills
