(from Google)2 cars were in the parking lot when we arrived at 4:30am. This hike was a leg burner! But well worth the climb. Amazing panoramic views of the gorge. Incredible fields of wildflowers throughout April-June. We completed the hike with standard gear just fine, but next time may bring hiking poles next time!
This hike was harrrrrd. I’m not an avid hiker but was determined to see some good views. It’s very steep switchbacks the entire way up. I stopped at the first big viewpoint (puppy dog lookout) and then turned around. Beautiful trail and gorgeous viewpoint!
It’s a difficult one day hike, with steep all over to the top. But it’s all worth it climb to top and relax. It’s a paid parking and it’s limited during peak season(summers) also require permit if your going after Apr 2nd week
This hike is intense but the top is well worth it. In total it's about 8 miles and took us 3.5 hours. It is a full loop and trust me you should stick with it because the down is far less steep then the way up. We saw plenty of people go back down the way we came and I would strongly discourage you from doing that.
It’s a popular but fairly steep hike. The views, especially during wildflower season are totally worth it. It can get quite windy at the top, so be sure to bring proper clothing and plenty of water. A permit is required on weekends, and parking can be a challenge.
