(from Google)Great bike trail. Adding new sections to Victory Drive now 2026.
A tremendous addition to this town. At some point soon it will be able to get you from Lake Mayer to Daffin Park. And then from there almost all of downtown is bike friendly with dedicated lanes..
This is an excellent modern, full-sized, nicely lit bike trail that I’d really appreciate being added to Google Maps on the bike layer. I think that would really help accessibility in that people would see it and then be more likely to use it and enjoy it, which would justify this trail’s existence and also the current and future expansion of this trail and the Tide to Town bike trail network. I’ve submitted the existing trail from here to the currently mapped sections over by Truman Parkway several times over multiple years. Anyone feel free to help me.
I love finding places to walk in the cities we travel to. This trail is paved all the way around a beautiful lake and there’s plenty of shade (it gets really hot in the south even in the mornings). People were friendly! There was a place to put in a kayak on the Lake Mayer Park part of the loop. Also on that side were playground, pickle ball and tennis courts and places to fish. I would recommend this to anyone (local or traveling). I got in a good 3 mile walk before heading out!!
Nice easy, well-shaded trail extending from E. Derenne Ave southward along the Truman Hwy greenway to Eisenhower, then west and south again to run adjacent Sallie Mood Dr. Termination is at the Lake Mayer loop.
