Brushy Creek Regional Trail

The Brushy Creek regional Trail has been around since I believe very close to 2000, the trail has many subparks along it and they are nice place to stop, restroom, water and usually playscapes and picnic tables. Along the route also is the area that goes along the Brushy Creek which is very scenic and has some nice shade and cooler temperatures, especially in the summer time. The trail consists of either broom swept concrete in areas where there's a lot of erosion potential or crushed granite Trail in areas where there's not. It's a good place for runners and it extends quite a ways now. I believe there was actually plans to connect all the way from the Cedar Park edge to the hutto edge of the trail and create a potential to run a marathon out and back. That's a pretty cool feature. It can be pretty crowded on the weekends in the morning and there can be a lot of zig zaggers and kids so you may want to avoid that if you are a more advanced runner or cyclist. Especially if you are cyclist. It's also good to note that it is not e-bike friendly or any motorized types of recreation vehicles. I have seen the rangers out there from Williamson County giving people citations for e-bikes. So if you're into that sort of thing, you probably want to find somewhere else. Anyway, the part of the trail that surrounds the Dam number 7, The reservoir behind the Avery ranch golf course is very picturesque and there is also a really nice park along there. Whether you're a walker, runner or cyclist--this is a really great place to do it. And if you're advanced runner or cyclist, better to do it in off hours or on weekdays.

I love this trail. I'm out walking or biking it several times a week all year long. It's a fabulous community amenity!

Park is well maintained by the county. Trail is about 6 miles and is pretty flat. Trail is well paved and you would see forest, falls, lakes along the trail. Trail is bike friendly, dog friendly. Picnic spots available for families to enjoy. Good parking space available at both ends of the trailhead.

Brushy Creek Regional Trail is maintianed by the Williamson County Parks and Recreation. Beautiful hike and bike trails for about 8 miles. Well maintianed pathways and pedestrian bridges. beautiful nature trails. Picknic areas and sports park.
