Beach 11 at Presque Isle is located deeper inside the park, so you’ll need to drive an extra ten minutes or so, but it’s worth it. When I visited, there were very few people, and the air was filled with floating cotton — it felt surprisingly romantic. The water was also very clear. Just note that there are no permanent restrooms at the entrance. The building across the parking lot is still under construction, so only portable toilets are available right now.

We stopped to take a look at the water. It was early morning and no one else was in sight. There was a lot of algae in the water along with an unpleasant smell. Looked pretty enough. Wanted to get a look at the nearby lighthouse we could not get to due to construction but could not get a decent photo of it with equipment in the way. Leaving we came across this little fellow just hanging out in the trail. The snake might have been five inches long if that.

It was a graveyard of fish and birds, smelled terrible. No swimming signs posted & notice that the water was not safe for dogs.

It was okay for a lake beach, but definitely not the best. I would do Geneva on the lake instead. We went to 11 bc it was voted on the news as the best beach in PA. Unfortunately when we went there was the now typical Canada wildfires happening so you could see smog in the air (no sun). We were on a code orange air quality I guess. They also had an algae overgrowth so there was no swimming. There was a dead seagull in the water by the sand. It just wasn't that great. Although I think it there was sun and real air it would have been enjoyable. The kids enjoyed the sand. My husband and I did not.

We were there for a free beach concert that they have on summer Wednesdays. Swimming was not permitted this day due to high ecoli levels in the lake. This beach has a roll-out sidewalk that helps when dragging a wagon or anything with wheels.
