Very clean, not overly crowded. Ocean City does a really nice job where its nearest neighbors just don’t.

My favorite beach in OC. Going early there is always street parking without meters. Not as crowded as other beaches. Nice shower to rinse sand off.

The beaches are clean, the sand is soft and powdery, there is close free parking and the sea bottom is free of shels, rocks or an abrupt dropoff. An ice cream truck visits the beach often, there are full restrooms available within walking distance, lifeguards are present with a clearly marked swimming area. Trash cans, rinse showers and beach access mats are available every day. This beach can not be beat!

There's handicap parking and a broadwalk to get onto the beach. They have lifeguards until 5 and you do need a beach tag.Parking cost $1.50 per hour and it is a meter. There is also bicycle racks no charge bring your own lock.

You know...just 2 days ago I gave this beach a 5star. This morning we were there again and found a SHOCK! They added a second stairway up to the disabled ramp - nice but....they built it on top of one of the only 2 blue spaces at the accessible beach! Who decides such a thing? I have to slash the rating. Original review.......Ocean City beaches are lovely any day of the year but when it's hot and you need a refuge they are perfect! Surf Rd beach is even extra special...you see, walking is not my best thing and OC has made that beach accessible. Not only is there a good ramp over the dunes but also a good ramp to within about 100 ft. of the water. I was able to ride my scooter all the way down and step right in! The pleasure of beach and ocean is hard to give up...and Surf Rd beach lets me not have to.
