(from Google)It started off nice but a closed bridge and blocked off trail ahead of that (workmen were at least at work) kept it from being the 2+ mile walk I’d hoped. Since I’m from out of town perhaps there will be a time I’ll be passing through again. A shame - the weather today was great!
Would have been really nice but the bridge was out very early on abd my kids was wanting to rollerblading so the wooded trail part was out for us. Guess we will try again when its open.
Boardwalk by the river is closed as of 10/24/2025. No indications of why or for how long. You can still walk the trail through the woods, which is excellent and leads to Creekwood Park and Splash Pad
Wonderful, easy walk. Our puppers loved it! Tons of armadillos!!!
We started at the entrance by Creekwood Park. To get to the paved trail would be a little tough for a stroller but not impossible I don't think. I would not recommend a wheelchair though. Getting back up the hill would be pretty hard in a wheelchair by yourself I'd think. The path is nice. Great shade, beautiful scenery and lots of animal tracks along the side to identify. We saw a lot of birds and squirrels today also. If you look down you can see where leaves and acorns landed while the cement was wet. Kind of a neat little accident to point out to the little ones. Some of the trees and plants are marked with signs also to let you know what kind they are. Creekwood Park is nice for kids with areas to sit if you needed to rest after your walk.
