Overlook Beach

Went there on the last 80+ degree Sunday just before Fall. Beautiful day with a beautiful view. People there are cool and friendly. Saw some dolphins close to the shore just before leaving. I used to live in San Diego and watch the dolphins off the coast, so it was a nice reminder and a pleasant goodbye to summer.

Come here off season - end of September is early enough and you will find a deserted large stretch of beautiful beach and ocean with amenities, parking and a playground. The tranquility and grace of this spot takes my breath every single time. It's easily my favourite beach spot on LI.

I loved this place — it’s perfect for families! Unfortunately, you need a pass to enter, and there’s no way to purchase one unless you live in the area. When we visit from NYC, we’re not allowed to go in, which is really disappointing.

We love this beach! Always clean and family oriented, they redid the playground which was a bit of a bummer since it used to be geared towards all age kids and now the new one is more for the little ones but I do like that it has the fence on the parking lot side. Today we met some people for the kite festival and had a great time like always. Thanks for a great family spot!

Visited this beach off-season via walkway from Cedar Beach Parking lot. All facilities were closed for the season. Calm waters on the beach got to be a big plus for swimmers comparing to typical LI South shore ocean side beaches. Miles of the beach to walk in any direction…
