Koda K-9 Academy

Connor was so great with our dog Indigo and we are so happy with how much progress she has made! Our girl used to resource guard me and would be aggressive to people when they approached. With a baby on the way, this was obviously a big problem. After 5 private lessons and a 2 week board and train she is doing SO much better. During the private lessons I learned how to properly handle Indigo and she learned to trust and listen to me. Once completing those we dropped her off for the two week board and train. It’s been a month since we picked her up and she is so well behaved now. She is still the same playful and silly girl we love but now she listens to us even when she’s stressed or excited. She learned that she doesn’t have to protect me and we have been able to have people over now without her freaking out. Indigo is still not the type of dog that wants to meet and be loved and touched by everyone but that’s just not the kind of dog she is. She now has the confidence to trust me in stressful situations instead of reacting out of fear. Our goal was to have a confident and well behaved dog that we could trust to listen to us and the trainers at Koda K9 helped us achieve that in time to safely welcome our new baby!

Faith was amazing! Our dog Jake is a lab retriever and his obedience, leash pulling, and reactivity is WAY better than before! Highly recommend Koda K9 they are amazing and they actually know what they’re talking about!

We couldn’t be happier with the progress our dog made as a result of our sessions. Our girl had been a stray before the shelter so her past was unknown. She is very sensitive, and didn’t have boundaries. Faith, our trainer, took the time to read her body language, adjust the pace when she needed it, and celebrate even the smallest wins. From the very first session, Faith approached her with patience, gentleness, and genuine understanding. Instead of forcing her into situations she wasn’t ready for, her confidence was built step by step. I was initially nervous about the use of a prong collar and an ecollar, but they were used responsibly and thoughtfully. There was never a moment where these tools were used harshly. They focused on us as a team. We learned how to support our girl better, communicate more clearly, and create an environment where she feels safe. The trainer didn’t just teach commands—she taught trust. I highly recommend Koda K9 for training.

We did the 2 week board and train for our boxer puppy and are absolutely thrilled with the results. We were kept up to date with pictures and videos the entire time. Most importantly when we visited him we could tell he was a confident and happy puppy who trusted his trainers. Not once was I ever concerned about his safety. The staff have been incredibly supportive even after bringing Henry home. Best decision we could have made.

Thrilled with our training experience & results!! Faith was amazing! She was so patient with me! (I’m much slower to catch on than our AmStaff, Sadie 😄) She walked us through, step by step for each new goal and was available for consult if we forgot something, or had challenges pop up before our next session. She set us up for success! We loved working with her! Koda K9 Academy is worth the time and price! If you put your work in with your dog, you’ll end up with the dog you hope for!
