(from Google)Beautiful hike/ run area. A little hard to be consistent especially with the loose rocks in some areas and challenging terrain in others. Love this area though.
Great hike, pretty isolated on a weekday. If you are going to hike up Elephant Butte trail, make sure you have good knees and grip on your shoes, it is not an easy trail and requires scrambling.
Beautiful king trails and rock climbing spots. You can mountain bike, I guess. Just be more considerate than the normal and actually use your belly and yield to pedestrians.
Alderfer Three Sisters East Trailhead is an incredible place to hike and connect with nature! 🌲⛰️ The trails are well-marked, offering options for all levels, from easy walks to more challenging climbs with rewarding panoramic views. The mix of forest, open meadows, and unique rock formations makes every step exciting and beautiful. It’s also dog-friendly, which makes it even better. A perfect spot for hiking, photography, or simply enjoying the peaceful Colorado outdoors.
We were leaving our air bnb and wanted to find a trail on our way out of Kansas City that we could get one last Mountain View and we stumbled across Alderfer/Three Sisters trail and about 5-10 mins in we found a nice set of rocks and were able to get up them and see a really great view before heading back to our car. It seemed like the perfect trail in Evergreen for rock climbing since we saw a lot of rock climbers. It is a family friendly trail in every green as we saw a ton of families and kids.
