Petco

My dog loves visiting Petco. He knows exactly where the treats are, and likes to help himself to one and bring it to the cash register for purchase. The staff is always professional and super friendly. And there is never a time that I can’t find what I need there.

Very bummed on how Petco runs things now. The manager is always questioning your purchases as if your going to eat these pets for instance, if you want to buy fish, birds or guinea pigs you need to 1) show images of your tanks, cages, etc. 2) You need to buy their cages even if they are $300+ since the one you own apparently isn't up to their standards. INSANE right!!! really losing out on business here. If I want to buy a fish or several why do I have to show proof of their tanks. Also, Facebook marketplace has great deals on tanks and cages so why would I need to spend $300 plus here when I can save $200 on FB. I was denied to take 3 fish due to possible fighting so what, its a 29 cent fish. The manager definitely takes his job way too seriously. Makes you never want to come back to the store. Guarantee this store will go out of business by how the manager runs things. Cant even buy a pet without getting constantly bombarded with questions and having to show proof of where the pet will live. As I'm reading some reviews, I'm questioning if he's racially profiling hispanics, since it seems only hispanic people who leave reviews here are getting denied these pet purchases. Hmmmmm interesting 🤨 will be seeking a new pet store such a shame since I buy all my dog items here and have been a frequent costumer for years.

My Petsmart is great. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We frequently use doggy daycare. And our dog Chase goes to doggy school and loves going! The groomers are also excellent! I love going into the store and everyone greets me and Chase!

I went today to buy up to 3 small birds and had a very bad experience. I will never go back to that store again. The pet manager or whatever bs that was refused to sell me the birds just because the cage was too small for 4 birds. Which in the meantime they sell me the cage there with 4 birds and told me that the cage was good for up to 5 birds They were asking me to show them pictures of my cage and they wanted me to buy a 399 cage. I told the guy that he will get in trouble because 2 of my birds died so when I told him that he didn't like it and that is why I was buying 2 more because my son was desperately crying and he didn't care he basically told me that since I told him he was gonna get in trouble he refuse to sell me the birds literally saying I don't want to sell you the birds he sayed to go someplace else and was very rude. I ask for the store manager and he sayed he is not around and he also sayed even if the store manager says yes he didn't authorized the sell like he is the owner of the store. So I decided to go to pet smart and had a wonderful experience. They didn't even ask me or harassme asking me to show them pictures of my cage like they did in petco. I was very happy in and out with 3 birds. So to petco owner people like that shouldn't be working at your store .

I prefer to order online at different retailers (including Petco) depending on the sales. The prices in-store are just so much higher - however, that is not the fault of individual store management I presume, so I will not have that impact the review. This is a clean store. Employees were nice in assisting us and no wait for checkout. I always check out the guinea pigs and these guys seemed healthy and happy in clean cages. Inventory was also good. Seems like a good Petco. Easy parking since the plaza has a ton of dedicated space.
