Dirty Dogs Spa at North Raleigh

I dont know what happened this time around. I have been bringing my dog here for around 1-2 years but I will not be returning. I brought my mini dachshund in for a face/feet/sani and when I picked him up, I realized once I got to my car that his feet weren't trimmed and his nails weren't cut. So I took him back in and asked why his feet weren't done since he gets them done every time so the person at the front desk went to talk to the groomer, Sarah, who told her that he was biting for his feet so they need to get done at the vet. They said this is in his notes but was never told to me. I asked for a partial refund since feet are part of the service and they said they cant do it without talking to the owner so I asked for her contact information and was told I could try calling the other location to find her but wasnt given any way to contact her directly. I shouldnt have to pay for a full service if I didnt get the full service and I definitely would not have tipped if what I explain next was how I was to be treated. The groomer then came out to ask what the problem was and proceeded to GASLIGHT me and tell me that she told me "many" times that my dog would bite with his feet and that she couldnt do them when the most I have EVER been told is that he gets a little "nippy" for his feet so they need to muzzle him but hes fine otherwise. I obviously wasnt told this time either since i made it all the way to my car before i realized his feet werent done. His nails and feet were trimmed at his last groom here a little over a month ago and no one told me that I cant get his feet done here any more. The groomer then went on to say that she wont endanger herself because of his behavior when I was in NO WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM saying I would expect her to do so. I was only stating that I have never been told how bad his behavior was and I was asking for a partial refund since I didn't get the full service. I then walked out with my dog because her attitude was CRAP.

I’m not sure what happened this visit . But I’ve been coming to this establishment for two years and I’ve never had this issue. My shorkie looks terrible and I will be contacting them in the morning as soon as they open. He wasn’t cut evenly and his anal is still dirty.. like I’m not sure what Sara did but this was the first time he’s ever looked bad. He looks shabby and uneven. I’ll keep taking him to wake forest location instead, definitely not going back to the Raleigh location. I also got the blueberry facial and I can’t smell it. I tip all the time and now I feel foolish for doing so.

Fabulous small business! I have 113 and 70 pound pups and Dirty Dogs Spa handles them with ease! Sarah has such a calm, understanding manner of working with them. Tip notch services! 💙

I've been bringing my Shih-Tzu here for a while now. My dog is older and gets upset when any groomer gets near his face. The groomers here are patient and take their time with him. Ensuring they do a great time every time!!

Update 10/21/24 - the owner reached out to my wife. Offered to redo the experience at no charge which we optioned to do, since we did have good experiences in the past with them and wanted to give another chance since they reached out. I have to admit that we are very appreciative that the owner wanted to make things right. Our dog had a great experience, smells clean, looks great and I am changing our review to 5 stars because they stepped up to do the right thing and we truly appreciated that. Many shops would not care as much, but these folks do. That says a lot. Thank you, Dirty Dog Spa. 10/19/24I’ve had better experiences on previous trips, unfortunately not this week. I was told our dog would be ready in two hours and when I came back in two hours, I was informed by the woman at the front desk that they had not started yet. I inquired where my dog was and she said that she’s been sitting in a crate for two hours. I was quite upset needless to say and asked for the supervisor who came out and wasn’t much help. They told me I could come back in another hour and a half and they would try and get to her at which point they indicated she would go back in the crate until they could get to her. I asked for my dog, we left and I’ll never go back. There was no phone call to let me know that they were running late, which was very frustrating. Our dog does not live or spend any time in a crate and so it affected her behavior for several days. I would strongly suggest finding a different dog spa with better management and personnel.
