(from Google)We hired Deanna to help us with our reactive lab puppy who was impossible to take on walks with our older lab. They competed to see who would be first, they pulled, the puppy jumped like a kangaroo and barked if she saw other dogs or people and it was not at all enjoyable, as well as embarrassing. We’d get comments like you have your hands full. We committed to 4 sessions with her. The first session we were taught some very helpful tools for the reactivity. The second session was when she introduced a new collar for both and taught us how to walk with them, how to redirect and in 20 minutes our dogs were walking side by side pretty calmly. Recently I was walking them both by myself(impossible before) and a FedEx guy came walking toward us and the puppy just kept walking! She doesn’t bark at dogs anymore and responds well to the directives Deanna taught us. Honestly now, and this happens a lot, people say “what beautiful dogs “. Our puppy was also a fence jumper which Deanna cured in literally 5 minutes. There are a multitude of things that we learned and incorporate that have really brought back the joy of having two big dogs in our home! We are so grateful! Thanks Deanna!
Deanna is really nice and knowledgeable for your everyday dog. I appreciate her trying to help with my Rottie. However, it didn’t work out due to his breed. Her methods would work well on labs, goldens etc. Honestly, I should have asked more probing questions about her knowledge with guardian breeds. She did help with quiet and place which has proven to be helpful. Unfortunately, he’s more reactive than when we started. I think the dog park theory wasn’t the best idea for him. But if you don’t have a guardian breed I would definitely hire her.
After our Jack Russell Terrier, Kimchi, was attacked by another dog, he started showing signs of aggression towards other dogs. We were heartbroken and unsure how to help him, so we decided to work with a professional and we’re so glad we found Deanna. From day one, she helped us understand that Kimchi wasn’t truly aggressive he just needed guidance and support from us. Deanna also helped us address some deep-rooted fears Kimchi had around men, which he had since he was a puppy. Her patient, thoughtful approach made all the difference. Today, Kimchi is a completely different dog, happy, confident, and able to enjoy public spaces and even dog parks again. Deanna didn’t just help Kimchi, she taught us how to show up for him, support him, and be the calm, consistent leaders he needed. We’re so grateful for her help and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable trainer who truly understands dogs.
I cannot recommend Deanna enough! She has been absolutely amazing with my dogs — patient, knowledgeable, and truly passionate about what she does. From the very first session, I noticed a huge improvement in their behavior. She explains everything clearly, customizes the training to both Shadow and Rockys needs, and always makes the sessions fun and positive. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the dogs she works with, Shadow and Rocky absolutely love her.
So thankful for all of the help! We adopted a sweet dog who needed to learn some manners and Deanna helped us so much. Even my older dog learned lots of new things. I feel like Deanna did such a good job not only with my dogs, but with teaching me how to better communicate with them.
