(from Google)The new outdoor nature area is simply beautiful. Big tree stumps to sit on, tree branches and twigs sculpted into a tent like structure. Sand piles abound everywhere for the kids to play in, with shovels and toys. You just have have to see everything else! Very peaceful!! I bring my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter here, she loves it!
If you want a place that you can go and rejuvenate and sit and breath in the wild air, but are not wanting to drive super far, Star K Ranch is the perfect spot. There's a few different paths, a few higher, and a few lower that you can choose. A picnic table and a couple benches too. Always remember, that you're in nature, please pick up the trash you have left over from the snacks you eat on the trail, or from the meals you make at the picnic area. Enjoy yourself!
Such a beautiful and peaceful walk. So glad the heart of an industrial area kept this jewel! The Morrison nature center seems like a lovely place the families and kids (I personally enjoyed it as a 30 yr old myself!) highly recommend this place to escape into nature
Amazing place, something for everyone. Trails are dog, bike, and horse friendly. We walked in from the big airport road, but there's also a parking lot. There's a small trail near the nature center with no horse, bike or dog access that is more kid friendly. Staff is amazing. Whether you live nearby or have a long layover (like I did), give this place a try and say hello to the wonderful staff!
A great half-mile wetland loop. Perfect for small children. It also connects with the the Sand Creek and Highland Canal trail systems. The Morrison Nature Center is also a huge plus. It was nice to cool down after a nature walk in 90+ degree heat. Plently of wild life and trees to climb, too.
