The main parking was full so we had to park on the road, but the park is so beautiful. Did a mother's day hike - the weather and the scenery can't be beat!

We got to the visitor center right as they were closing but they were so sweet and helpful and didn’t rush us out. They told us which paths to take with the kids. The place is magical. The moss makes it look like fairies are hiding everywhere.

You could spend an eternity here and still find new trails and places to hike and see. I love it, and the hikes are very quiet for the most part despite being in the middle of a city. You will see people, but it’s never been “crowded” in my opinion. There is SO much protected land that can be explored. Some trails are better for jogging than others, but I find it to be such a peaceful walk. It isn’t treacherous, and you can spend as long or as short as you want to. Many of the trails connect to each other. As of October 2025, parking is no longer free, but it is $5 or have an annual pass. I came here in the summertime and parked at a residential area for free at one end of a trail, but the main entrance area is not free and parking is limited even on a rainy day in December. The nature center “clubhouse” area at the main trailhead is super cool and informative. I loved reading about the different wild animals in the area. They also have items to purchase as well as merch. Theres drinking fountains and clean restrooms as well.

Forest and pure wilderness!! Nicely organised trails and parking area. The visitors area is helpful.

A beautiful Oregon State Park. There was a sign upon entering that starting October 1, 2025 there will be a parking fee. This park is worth it, so many lovely trails. Its beautiful anytime of the year.
