(from Google)This is a real gem, made great by fabulous facilities and park staff. The campsites are unmatched in the TPWD system, with close-by wonderful hiking trails, beautiful wildflowers and the interpretive center was as good as I've seen. To top it off, a multi activity crafting corner for kids. Too good.
A very clean, well kept park. There was a flood a few years ago and part of the park is closed for repair. They do not expect it to be in operation for another couple of years. The camping loop is about .2 miles so it is a small campground, all full hookup. The bathhouse is clean, a bench in each of the two shower stalls, and numerous hooks to hang clothes and towels on. Cleaned everyday and easy walking of every site. There are paths that go between the camping sites to shorten the trip to the restroom. There are a few trails to walk, all relatively clear and some have crushed clay to keep them from being muddy. We saw a wild turkey, a few deer, a lot of cardinals and some humming birds. The bees on the flowers by the rangers station and gift shop were obviously Texas bees. Must have been 1 1/2” long! But they didn’t bother us they were too consumed with collecting nectar. It is close enough to get to Waco for a day trip. We have had a very pleasant visit.
Great experience at Mother Neff State Park. The park is peaceful, beautiful, and very well maintained, with scenic views and nice trails to enjoy. It’s a perfect place to relax and spend time outdoors. Traveling in our Class A motorhome with our Jeep in tow, we found it to be a convenient and enjoyable stop. The sites were easy to access, and getting in and out of the park was manageable for a larger rig. Overall, a great place to unwind and we would definitely visit again.
Renegade 38ft w/Jeep. Site 20 ADA FHU. Yes FHU in a Texas State Park! The gravel was raked & I hated to walk on it. Nice big picnic area too. Secluded. Easy in & out for a big rig. Site held us and the tow-no problem. Lots of birds. A few rumblings from the SpaceX test area 18 miles away. Buc-ees is 30 minutes away. If you are married, you're going to Magnolia Silos, 30 minutes the other direction. I vote for Buc-ees personally. Who can beat BBQ, gas & jerky car wash? Staff at Mother Neff were Texas friendly too! Nicest park I've been too. We camped at Mother Neff State Park in a Motorhome.
On our way home from the beach, we stopped for a night here. We will definitely be back to spend more time. We had to leave early the next morning. The site was raked and clean. There is a lot of road noise. Still enjoyed ourselves.
