(from Google)I am so glad I found Rocky Hill Ranch via the reviews from the previous boarding facility that we no longer use. I used to use a facility in Boulder but when I rescued a six month old puppy who was feisty and full of energy, I was told she wasn’t a great fit by the previous boarding facility soI panicked the week that we were supposed to be going on vacation.Luckily Rocky Hill Ranch took in my puppy at the last minute and actively worked with her during her initial boarding to teach her good manners, things we were working on since we only adopted her two weeks ago. She had been given back to the shelter twice, so she has a little anxiety and we can tell that her previous owners didn’t work with her on basic training. Rocky Hill Ranch absolutely love her, and my mind was put at ease finally when I knew that she was being a typical puppy and just needed some help.
Heaven forbid you pick your dogs up a day early (even though you had already discussed with one of the attendants and there was no mention of an extra charge)! Beware they will still charge you for an extra day of boarding even though your dogs are no longer there. Seems to be a new policy where you need to give Rocky Hill Ranch 48 hours to “get the dogs ready for departure”… I didn’t realize gathering a couple dog beds and 2 leashes was a 48 hour process?? If that’s the policy then it is what it is, however you must let a customer know that… which you failed to do. By the way, I was trying to be courteous to the employees, I wasn’t sure if we would make it back in time to pick up our dogs by the 4pm deadline. In the past we have been 10 minutes late (picking up dogs at 4:10 instead of 4) and it seemed to be the biggest deal in the world. So this time around I was trying to be courteous to the employees, and I let them know when I dropped the dogs off if we would not be back in time then we would pick the dogs up first thing in the morning, and again there was no mention of being charged an extra day if I managed to pick them up early, or technically the original “on time”. Pretty disappointing experience this time around. Our dogs have loved it here in the past, but sadly we will not be using this place ever again due to their lack of customer service and backwards “policies”.
We love Rocky Hill Ranch! We’ve been taking our pup there for 3 years, and love that the dogs get to play outside all day and enjoy being on a big ranch. The staff are so helpful, and clearly love spending their time with all the dogs, and Denali is always well taken care of. We also love all the pictures they put up, and his report cards from boarding. Denalis always ready for a big nap once he gets home!
Love this place! I had never boarded my dog before until last April. I was adamant about him not being in a crate all day or being inside all day as he’s a big dog and loves to explore, plus being cooped up all day, that seems terrible. This place has acreage for the dogs to be outside most of the time to just be… dogs! My dog is so social with both dogs and people that this is just perfect for him! They feed per your requests and they have a huge crate for him to sleep in at night. You can bring your dog’s bed and any other of their creature comforts for them to have for them at night when they put them to bed. I know Sanchito loves going there and I’m pretty sure they all love him too! Couldn’t recommend a better place to leave the dogs while you’re traveling. He always comes home tired and needing a few days of rest, which is nice while I settle back in at home too.
Absolutely awesome place! One of my dogs is pretty sensitive and nervous about new people, but he had no problem his first day! Went right in, no fears. Prices are great and my dogs come home completely exhausted and need at least a full day of napping to get their energy back. Highly recommend!
