Despite leash laws, almost 90% of dogs we’ve encountered here are off leash. We are training our 9 month old puppy so always keep him on a long line and had 2 close encounters where dogs have almost attacked him. We will not be visiting this location any longer, which is too bad considering it’s a great area for trails. This is the unfortunate reality of living in a city where people believe they are entitled to let their dogs off leash in public areas.

Spent two hours walking the trails while a friend was at the hospital for an appointment. Very convenient, adequate parking and facilities. Lots of options, mostly with some elevation. The one main trail was wide and flat, almost all of the side trails and loops were rocky but well worn. After a very dry August, there was virtually no water on the site, the streams and small ponds were parched . Signage throughout was nonexistent, except for the map at the trailhead. Lots of small deer trails to distract, I was up for an adventure, but not everyone is. My next goal is to the friends group, to see what kind of help they need. My strong recommendation is that they work on signage. It would be a OK spot for a frequent flyer, but I assume it would be challenging for a first time. Still comes. It’s a city park and an oasis in otherwise populated area. 4 out of 5👍

Rock pond and Spring house is nice but the duck pool and other marsh are very mucky. Overall a good spot. Beware of ticks, coyotes and deer.

Fun place for a short hike, but getting in was a challenge as parking near the entrances were either non-existent or closed. Maybe there are better entrances! Trails were not well-marked, but easy enough. And there was on-street parking not too far away.
