Brilliant Veterinary Care

I’ve been to a bunch of vets over the years, but Brilliant Veterinary Care is by far the best. The staff is sweet, friendly & responsive, & Dr. Bishop has been a saint—knowledgeable, kind & compassionate. As long as I have pets here in the city, this is the vet I’ll be taking them to.

I can’t recommend Dr. Bishop at Brilliant Veterinary Care enough. I actually live on the East Side, but I make the trip because he is someone I trust with my dog’s care. I brought my baby Caden in when his allergies became so severe that he was losing hair, and once again Dr. Bishop was incredibly patient, attentive, and thoughtful. Unlike some veterinarians who strictly follow a protocol, he truly listens and takes the time to understand what’s going on before offering knowledgeable, tailored solutions. What I appreciate most is his consistently positive attitude and the calm reassurance he brings to every visit, it makes a stressful situation feel much more manageable. If you’re looking for a vet who combines expertise with compassion, Dr. Bishop is absolutely worth the trip.

After moving to Lincoln Sq my cat Luna became suddenly ill and stopped eating and drinking. I went on the app Nextdoor to read reviews and recommendations of vets in the neighborhood, and even though it was a short bus ride for me, I found Brilliant Veterinary Care to have the best reviews. I brought Luna here, and they did some bloodwork and took a urine sample and found she had a UTI. After 2 antibiotic injections, she was back to her normal self. About a month passed, and the infection returned, and she deteriorated very fast. Another antibiotic shot didn’t help as her kidney values were too high. I had to make the decision to have her put to sleep. I found all the staff from the receptionists, nurses, and doctors to be very kind and show lots of empathy to Luna and myself. I decided to have Luna cremated and have a paw print done, and to my surprise, when I got the bill, they had done the euthanasia shot complimentary . I received her ashes back today and the paw mould, and it was really well presented. I just want to say thank you to all the staff there for doing their best for Luna and for being so kind. Dr. Bishop is a great vet. He is very caring and knowledgeable, he also cares a lot about your pet. I also have been very impressed with the front desk staff. Lori is amazing and always very on top of all my pets needs. They are also locally owned and have reasonable pricing for Manhattan.

My beloved cat Dexter recently passed and I’d like to take this opportunity to say how great the Brilliant team were in taking care of him. Dr. Bayazit never suggested any test or treatment that was unnecessary. She is kind, communicative and empathetic. The nurses are all so knowledgeable and treated him as if he was theirs. I highly recommend this practice for your furry companions.
