Yardstick Dog Hotel - Lakewood

Like every pawrent out there, we felt anxious boarding our shy Sofie for more than a week with strangers. Our expectations were not only met but went beyond what we could imagine. The staff at Yardstick go the extra mile because they truly regard each pup in their care as their own with specific needs. She went from hiding in a corner to playing hard with new friends in just two days. When I picked her up, she was more confident in herself and absolutely glowing! Yardstick is like Montessori school for dogs! Besides having a clean and well-maintained facility, they communicate consistently each day via picture/text message updates. We have used other doggy daycares before in the dallas area which were simply satisfactory. With Yardstick, you not only gain a peace of mind but you will also get an extended family for your doggo. Our dog Fiji stayed at the Yardstick Lakewood location for 6 days while we were out of town for Christmas, and we had a great experience! We loved receiving daily photo updates—it gave us so much peace of mind. When we picked her up, she was happy and clearly well cared for. We will definitely continue using Yardstick for their boarding services. I Highly recommend using them!

We had a great experience with Yardstick! Gess was absolutely awesome with our dog Max, who usually gets anxious and doesn’t like being boarded. He loved her and had a great time, which gave us so much peace of mind. Highly recommend!

We did a trial day for our 2 dachshunds before they go back for a week of boarding. This was their first experience at any kind of daycare or kennel, and it was great! Henry gave me a tour on the spot when I came in. Everything is clean and smells good. My dogs were anxious when I left them, but they warmed up to the staff quickly and looked happy in the picture updates. When I picked my pups up, they weren’t acting weird at all and didn’t have any unpleasant odors. I feel very comfortable leaving them to board for a week!

Yardstick Lakewood is absolutely amazing! The entire staff is incredibly friendly, patient, and caring (special shoutout to Mia, John, and Henry😊). They always greet my dog by name the moment we walk in, know his little quirks, and keep me updated throughout the day with pictures. It’s clear they pay attention and truly love what they do. They remember if he finished his breakfast, how he played, and who his favorite buddies were that day. I’d be offended by how excited he is to go inside in the mornings, except that it gives me such peace of mind knowing he’s happy and taken care of. Thank you Yardstick for taking such good care of Toby, we couldn’t be happier!
